The effect of light, angle and just the right timing! ~ A Before and After

Happy Friday Everyone! I thought this might be a little neat to share. The following is a photograph that was taken at a session last weekend. The first is the straight out of camera image and the second is the edited one.
This was the style of image I was trying to capture and it worked! My goal was to capture playful images of this sweet girl. Working with the light and the darkness of her fur, I positioned myself in a spot that would work. Of course one cannot predict where a dog will travel within the frame and where their eyes will look so those factors were unknown and captured with just the right timing. The light through the snow flying up was just magical! No added effects here! My goal is to edit as natural and true to life as possible. This photograph was inspired by my day out ‘playing’ with my camera when I captured the two moments below of my pup, Juno. I hope to continue to push myself creatively in every session I photography.
What are your thoughts on this style of image?
